I am always thinking about food and today I can’t get this amazing chicken and risotto off my mind. I had this delicious dish at The Tavern in Abingdon, Virginia. I hope I didn’t embarrass myself by scarfing it down so quickly. I shouldn’t have been hungry as our meal started off with some tasty bread. I was probably crying tears of joy when I saw it so the picture is a little blurry. But I balanced that with a salad. I loved those waffle-sliced carrots.
Some of my favorite memories of fall from four different states! Happy first day of autumn!
We are expecting a deluge of rain in Georgia today and we can only hope for a rainbow. A few years ago we were on our way to the U. S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama and we encountered this rainbow over the First Baptist Church. Before we got close enough to see the church, I actually thought the steeple was a model of a rocket. Happy Sunday y’all!
I wondered if I would ever write about our visit to the Andersonville National Historic Site in Georgia because the stories told there were so upsetting. But today is National POW/MIA Recognition Day 2021 in the United States. So I will share in honor of them.
So here’s a funny story from our travels. I was trying to get a good picture of this goat at the Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm. He apparently did not want his picture taken. He got on top of a dog-house like enclosure and I thought he was going to jump the fence and get me. He didn’t but I will never forget this goat. Do you have any funny stories from the road?
Six years ago we were at Palace View Resort in Branson, Missouri, which is owned by Spinnaker Resorts. It was my first time in Branson and I was not disappointed. I will share more of our journey there throughout the week. We are hoping to return next year. There is so much to do there you could never get it all done--even in a week!
