This is us this time last week. We had a great time in the Ozarks and we were about to take a beautiful drive home. We were excited about autumn beginning and the beautiful weather we were going to have.
We have planned for months to spend this weekend in Forsyth as the town celebrates its bicentennial. Covid had other plans. Steve tested positive on Sunday. And while I am still testing negative, I am very sick today. I have pretty much lost my voice. When I can talk, Steve says I sound like a bass singer for a gospel group. Hopefully this is just a terrible head cold or sinus infection. It’s back to urgent care for me in the morning if I still test negative.
This is the two-room home that Elvis Presley lived in as a young boy in Tupelo, Mississippi. Times were hard for the Presley family. But Gladys showered her son with love and made this little house a home.
Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day. I am not even going to try, lol. We learned a lot about the history of pirates on Florida’s coast at the Tampa Bay History Center. This pirate ready for battle startled me at first. I ended up watching his fight with another for a good 15 minutes. Tampa Bay also hosts the country’s third largest parade in January as part of the Gasparilla Pirate Fest. Now I understand why Tampa Bay’s football team is called the Buccaneers! 😂
This was supposed to go on my crafting account but I’ll share it here since I did anyway!
We are home and we brought a visitor—Covid. It was still a wonderful trip and I will share as long as I feel up to it.
