Find a taste of New Orleans in Forsyth, Georgia

(Editor's note: We were partially compensated for our visit but all opinions are our own) I love food but I don't consider myself a "foodie." I once had a job writing about fine dining but had to give it up. Growing up, my idea of fine dining was the Western Sizzlin' and I still miss … Continue reading Find a taste of New Orleans in Forsyth, Georgia

Five reasons you should visit Adairsville, Ga.

Happy New Year from Adairsville, Georgia! When we were planning 2023, I realized we have never written about the amazing little town we call home. Steve and I have been married nearly 10 years and we have lived in Adairsville our entire marriage. It's a small town with just shy of 5,000 people, according to … Continue reading Five reasons you should visit Adairsville, Ga.

Christmas at the Falls is back!

Editor's note: This story has been updated to include the schedule for 2022. We were the guest of  Greater Gadsden Area Tourism during our visit in 2018. We assure you all opinions are our own. Four years is too long to go without seeing the Christmas wonders in Gadsden, Alabama. We spent a wonderful couple … Continue reading Christmas at the Falls is back!

The Georgia town that became a Hollywood legend

The Georgia town of Juliette wasn't much to look at in the 1980s. The buildings were old and worn. What was once the old general store wasn't in much better shape. I resisted the urge to start this story with "it was a dark night." But it was. Steve and … Continue reading The bears of Carrabelle, Florida

We are Florida bound! Prayers for safe travels appreciated!
What is the strangest thing you have seen on your travels? We were walking through downtown Newnan, Georgia and looked up to see this. I am not sure why it was there in March but it’s definitely attention grabbing. We loved strolling through downtown Newnan and we are going back soon.
Do you unpack your suitcases when you travel or do you live out of them? Steve and I are opposites. He always unpacks, even if it is for one night. I never unpack. I just grab things from the suitcase. The picture is from the Holiday Inn in Baton Rogue. We had a great stay there and plan on staying there again when we return.
It’s National Flower Day! I can’t grow them but I love to look at them. Here are a few from our journeys.
It’s spring! It doesn’t feel like it in Georgia. It was 28 degrees when I woke up. We are headed to the sunny Gulf Coast of Florida this weekend and it’s going to feel more like summer! What’s the weather like where you are?
The Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, Kentucky is one of the most beautiful places we have visited. Read more about America’s Notre Dame at the link. https://southernplacesandfaces.com/2023/03/19/covington-kentucky-home-of-americas-notre-dame/
